Droomwals (Nanno 372) 16.1hh Stallion (b.2001)

Droomwals, immediately translated as Dreamwaltz, or “Droomie” is a truly exceptional animal. You will not find a horse anywhere with the same appetite for pulling as he has. He has an amazing worklust and can always be relied on to dig deep and give a 100 % when the going gets tough.

Sired by Nanno and born in 2001 we brought Droomie over from Holland at the same time as Hoitze and Hidde. He has such a controlled attitude and takes everything in his stride which has enabled us to keep him entire. He works on the off-side of the carriage when we drive pairs or goes in front when we drive the unicorn (3 horses). Because of his very forward going attitude Droomie is not a novice ride.

At the 2008 UK Friesian Inspections he was described by the FPS jury as "a beautiful stallion, very nicely built, with beautiful musculation and excellent feathering". When he is not busy with his driving work, Droomie can occasionally be seen competing at local unaffiliated dressage competitions. On his very first outing he was placed 4th with a score just under 70% in a class of 27. He followed this up with a number of wins and now takes more of a back seat in the dressage to some of our youngsters.  We try to keep life quite light hearted for Droomie in between his commercial work and he likes nothing more than hacking out or spending a day in the paddock.

Droomie has been bred as the newer type of Friesian Sport Horse so he is a lot longer, slimmer and has not got so much bone but he is an incredibly handsome horse with a long fine mane. He is a very particular horse and this is demonstrated in his morning routine; he saves a little of his breakfast for after his cup of tea ( 3 tea bags in a bucket of water with just a dash of milk and one sugar) and then goes back to bed for about half an hour before tucking into his haynet!!
